Dominating the pitch since 1994 and empowering the next generation in Dakshina Kannada.
From our roots in Surathkal to becoming a regional powerhouse, we blend the passion of underarm cricket with a deep commitment to social welfare.
About Us
Thirty plus years of cricket with passion, unity, community service and social impact — from a coastal neighbourhood to a regional powerhouse.
Founded in the vibrant coastal town of Surathkal by a group of passionate cricketers under the leadership of our inaugural captain, Shafiulla. What started as a neighbourhood dream in Kana quickly grew into one of Dakshina Kannada's most respected cricket clubs.
Built on three unwavering pillars that have guided every decision, every match, and every community initiative since our founding day.
What began as a neighbourhood team has evolved into a dominant force in underarm cricket. For over a decade we fielded players exclusively from Kana; as the sport grew in Mangalore, so did we — strategically welcoming talent from across the region. Today, strengthened by our partnership with Trescon, Torpedos Kana stands as a testament to sporting excellence and strategic evolution.
Established during challenging times in the 1990s, Torpedos Kana chose to stand for inclusiveness above all else. We built a sporting environment where talent and character were the only measures — welcoming players regardless of religion, caste, or social boundary. This commitment to brotherhood remains deeply woven into our club's fabric to this day.
Making a positive difference through sports, education support, and community service programs across Dakshina Kannada.
Promoting local culture and welcoming every player across all backgrounds — talent and character are our only measures.
"At Torpedos Kana, we're not just building a team, we're building a community. We're dedicated to fostering a spirit of camaraderie, discipline, and passion for the game. As President, I'm committed to supporting our players, support staff and members in their pursuit of excellence, both on and off the field."
"We're also committed to making a positive impact in our community. We're proud to have provided the ground floor of our club building, free of cost, to run an Anganwadi school. It's heartening to see over 20 young students benefiting from this initiative, and we're honored to play a small part in shaping their futures."
President, Torpedos Kana
One of our proudest achievements stands as a testament to the vision of our beloved late leader, S Mohammed Suratkal (Liberty). The public gymnasium we built was his dream — a space where Kana's youth could gather to build not just their physical strength, but also forge bonds of unity and fellowship.
Torpedos Kana became the first club to implement a structured monthly salary system for players, with compensation tied to performance grades — revolutionizing the landscape of underarm cricket and setting new standards for player welfare.
Torpedos Kana & Trescon Foundation
In proud partnership with the Trescon Foundation, we are committed to breaking the cycle of educational inequity — ensuring students from marginalized and backward communities have the financial backing and professional mentorship they need to succeed.
Through this collaborative effort, we provide a robust safety net for students who possess merit and drive but lack the financial resources to pursue higher education.
"Our partnership with Trescon Foundation allows us to double our impact, moving from mere financial aid to sustainable community empowerment."
The Torpedos Kana & Trescon Foundation alliance focuses on bridging the "guidance gap." We provide the networks and mentorship often missing for students from backward communities.
The collaboration between Torpedos Kana and the Trescon Foundation is built on the belief that collective action creates lasting change. We remove the barriers of cost and lack of information, allowing students to focus on what matters most: their growth and their future.
The players who wear the Torpedos Kana colours with pride.
